 Audition Workshops

As a result of popular demand, we are offering three $5 audition workshops to help better prepare students (and parents) for the most difficult performance hurdle: the audition.  This workshop will assist with monologue and song preparation, as well as some basic tools to nail the dance portion of an audition.  Students will learn the secrets of a successful audition, from effective piece selection, presentation, resumes, cold-readings and more. Students should bring dance shoes if they have them (jazz and tap) and wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.  Don’t have dance shoes?  Let us know, we might be able to hook you up.  If you prefer not to purchase any shoes now, be sure your student wears socks to facilitate movement on the dance floor and bring any presentation materials your student has already selected.  Songs should include sheet music, as opposed to just lyrics, and a monologue from a larger theatrical work.  We will also provide advice and resources for finding these materials if this is all brand new for you!

Workshop Dates (students may attend any session regardless of campus affiliation):

  • October 19th, 5pm – 7pm (Motsenbocker)
  • November 10th, 1pm – 3pm (Lincoln Meadows)
  • December 14th, 5pm – 7pm (Castle Pines)

Sign up on the school store. Space is limited!
