Soft Release

While American Academy does not generally do an “official” early release, in consideration of our many working families, there may be times when we announce a Soft Release. This means that parents are welcome to pick students up through the front office before the end of the school day. An instance of this would be for weather that has deteriorated over the course of the day or even a few hours, and although school has started and is in session, some parents may wish to pick up early. We will generally do what is called a Soft Release.

Soft Release:

Carpool is CANCELLED. Students are kept inside, parents must park and walk inside with a driver's license or with your SDM App to physically check out and retrieve students. All OUTSIDE and INSIDE after-school activities are cancelled unless otherwise noted, including Homework Club/Crash Club, and KindiePrep ExtraCare. Walkers will be released to walk at 3:35pm unless you would like them held until you can pick them up. If you would like your walker kept inside until you pickup, please update your SDM app (or call the front office). KindiePrep students must be picked up as usual.

We ask that all parents come no later than 4:00 pm so that staff can get home safely, unless it is noted that HW Club or other ECAs will end at regular time. For the most part, please assume ALL ECAs will be cancelled.
