Summer 2023

Only middle school students (grade 6-8) have summer history assignments. Assignments are listed below by grade.
 

 

Grade 6

6th grade students will need to memorize the list (below) of geographical features using a map over the summer, and will be assessed on these topics when they return to school. They will be expected to label a blank map with each feature, and spelling will be counted.

-The following regions of the world:
North America, Central America, The Caribbean, South America, Europe, Africa, The Middle East, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica
-The Prime Meridian (including coordinates)
-The Equator (including coordinates)
-The Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn (including coordinates)
-The 5 Oceans (Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic, Indian and Southern)
-The Arctic and Antarctic Circles (including coordinates)

Grade 7

As summer work to prepare for 7th grade History, students will be working on critical life skills related to Personal Financial Literacy. Click on the links below for instructions and resources on how to complete the work.  This project will be due the first week of school.

Grade 8

In 8th grade History, students will be learning about several types of government systems. This work project will get students creatively thinking about the components of a government.
