Time to Get Serious About Uniforms

Now that we are well into the school year at each campus, we would like to remind parents to pay close attention to our Student Uniform Policy and guidelines and be sure that students are dressed and ready each day for school uniform compliance. Admin and teachers have been giving a great deal of grace and lots of reminders this year (especially at our newest campus)! But by now everyone should have a good grasp of the rules and expectations. Starting with this past week, students will be sent down to the front office if they are out of uniform compliance and parents will be called to bring the correct items to school.

Believe it or not, our students really do understand why we wear uniforms at school (though we know they get tired of it -- that's what we have Dress of Dhoice Days and Spirit Days). At the Motsenbocker Veterans Day Assembly, one student asked our veteran speaker why the military requires uniforms. He sent the question right back to her, and she responded that, with uniforms, no one needs to worry about what others have or what they are wearing, and there are no distractions. This was from a 1st grader -- true story!

Please remember that the American Academy student uniform is a board policy that supports our school mission of a culture of respect and responsibility. So remind your students to tuck in those shirts, wear black, red, white or blue leggings, and only Dennis Uniform shorts, pants and skorts. Thanks!
