Parent Representative - LM
Bryan grew up in Colorado before heading to the Midwest for school at the University of Michigan. After graduating from UofM, he took a position in the private equity space in Chicago before ultimately moving back to Colorado with his wife Laura in 2012. They now live in Parker and currently have two sons at the American Academy Lincoln Meadows campus. Bryan’s work experience is largely finance-related, having operated in the private equity industry for approximately 15 years, before moving over to his current place of employment at Armstrong Capital Development - a commercial real estate investment group. Outside of work, Bryan’s family stays busy with all sorts of sports and they love to travel as a family when they can find the time. |

Stacey Beechum SAC Chair & Parent Representative (MB) The Beechum family has been at the Motsenbocker campus since it first opened. Stacey says, "We have loved every second of being with American Academy which is why I am proud to be serving the school." Stacey served three years on the Motsenbocker PTO, two of which were as President. Additionally, she has served on the SAC for the past three years. In her work life, she has 18+ years IT and Marketing experience in Digital Product Management. Her oldest has since moved on to high school and she also has a middle schooler at Motsenbocker. In the Beechum’s spare time they enjoy a family rivalry between the Broncos and Packers (Go Pack Go!), Legos, and playing trivia games. |

Beth Hamlin Parent Representative (LM) Beth, a native of Colorado deeply rooted in southern Colorado, has embraced a lifelong journey of learning, achieving numerous professional certifications along the way. Her pursuit of these certifications has taken her across the globe, including the UK where she became a certified educator for Raspberry Pi, and to Australia where she earned the Google Certified Teacher (Innovator/Champion) distinction. With a rich background spanning over two decades in education, including internships within Australian public schools, Beth has cultivated a unique perspective. She has been actively engaged in global educator communities, and presents regularly in areas like Technology, Computer Science, Physical Computing, Making, and alternative education. Additionally, Beth contributes her insights as a member of Colorado Education Commissioner’s Teacher Cabinet. |

Recorder, Parent Representative (MB)
Celia comes from a military family and lived in many states throughout the US. She went to high school in Albuquerque, NM and came to Colorado for college. She got her Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Regis University and later got her Masters degree in Mathematics from UNC.
Celia has been a teacher for 14 years and is currently teaching math at Legend High School. While at Legend she has served as the Math Department Chair and a member of the instructional leadership team. Her current classes are teaching freshman in Algebra 1 and helping seniors get college credit through ACC and also AP Calc BC. Celia and her husband Creyton moved to Parker in 2012 shortly after getting married. They have 2 kids that both attend American Academy Motsenbocker since 2019. Reagan is in 2nd grade and Turck is in Kindergarten. Both kids started at AA in the Kindie prep program. Celia is passionate about education especially allowing for parent voices and choice to be a part of their student's education. She has enjoyed volunteering at American Academy over the years especially helping out in the classrooms as room mom. Celia is excited to pursue more of a leadership role at AA and work collaboratively with other parents, educators and administrators to continue the legacy of American Academy.

Brandon Linn
Community Representative Dr. Brandon Linn has been on the SAC for many years as the community member. He is a Castle Pines North resident and is married with 3 children. His local business, Brandon Linn Orthodontics, has supported American Academy in numerous ways for over a decade. |

Ashley McDonald
Board of Directors Representative
Ashley lives in the Castle Valley neighborhood of Castle Pines with her husband Kevin and their two children who attend American Academy Castle Pines, Charlotte and Beckett and was recently elected to the American Academy Board of Directors. Ashley is a working mom, serving as the Assistant Vice President of Sustainability for the National Pork Board. Growing up on a farm in Missouri she has spent her entire career advocating for farmers and ranchers through agriculture policy-making and sustainability initiatives.
She previously served as the Senior Director of Sustainability for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), Executive Director of the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, Director of State Legislative Affairs for Missouri Farm Bureau, and Environmental Counsel for NCBA. She holds a degree in Agriculture Economics from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctorate degree from Antonin Scalia Law School in Arlington, Virginia.

Amber O'Neil Parent Representative (CP) Amber was born and raised in Houston, TX, and received a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University (Go Aggies!). After college, and following her husband- a native Australian, she spent 10 years in Perth and Sydney, Australia. Both her children, Ava and Logan, were born in Australia. In 2014, they made their journey back to the US, and settled in Denver. Her family joined the American Academy community when Ava started Kindergarten. Amber has loved serving American Academy in many roles including Restaurant Nights Committee Chair, VP of Fall Fundraising, Room Mom, PTO President and now Board Advisor. Amber has a passion for community service and fundraising, and can’t wait to continue utilizing her talents for American Academy. |

Jen Schaffer Teacher Representative Born in Texas, but a true Colorado kid, Jen has spent most of her life in the local area. Working her way through college, Jen enjoyed a 7 year career in banking operations before earning a degree in History and Secondary Education. She found her calling in teaching what she describes as “medium-sized humans” for the past decade in the Douglas County charter community. As a life-long learner, Jen still learns every chance she gets. This past summer, she spent 2 weeks aboard the USS Midway in San Diego attending their teacher institute on the Cold War. Jen dabbles in other sections of education such as the occasional item writing for CMAS, presenting at local, district, and international professional development seminars, and acting as a mentor teacher. She is a passionate advocate for learners of all types and revels in helping the next generation to grow into informed citizens. Outside of education, her great loves are her family, which includes a 6th grader at LM, friends, and carbs. |

Aileen Vanderwal
Parent Representative (LM)
Aileen VanderWal was elected to the SAC in 2021 and is serving this year as an appointed parent representative from the LM campus. She and her husband Ray have five children with 3 currently attending AALM in 8th, 4th, and 2nd grade. Aileen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University in 2003 and worked as a software engineer at Honeywell Defense Avionics Systems in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She also has previous work experience with Intel in electrical test and web design as well as Sandia National Labs in optical engineering. Parker residents for over 15 years, she and her family are very involved in their kids’ baseball and football teams as well as other activities. Aileen periodically works as a substitute teacher at AALM and is currently the office manager of her husband’s financial advising firm Arrow Wealth Management in Centennial. She looks forward to volunteering on the SAC for another year!

Christy Williams Parent Representative (CP) Christy is a parent representative from the Castle Pines campus. Christy served on PTO for 3 years: two years as secretary and one year as president. In 2020, Christy joined the District Accountability Committee (DAC) for DCSD as a parent representative. She currently has three children who attend AA. |
