Fall Festival Costumes

American Academy elementary (K-5) students often celebrate Fall with Fall Festival parties and costumes at the discretion of the teachers. Typically students arrive to school in their regular school uniforms and change into costumes when directed by the teacher. We welcome this opportunity for fall fun! However, we do have some guidelines for costumes worn at school.

Costumes should be:

  • No weapons of any kind. EVER. Like any other school day, weapons are NOT ALLOWED on school grounds, even pretend weapons!

  • School-appropriate. No scary costumes and no revealing costumes.

  • Core Knowledge costume themes are strongly encouraged. We are a Core Knowledge school, and the curriculum content is full of school-appropriate, creative costume ideas!

  • Admin reserves the right to disallow a student costume if it fails to meet the guidelines above. If a costume is disallowed, the student will need to wear the student uniform instead.

If you have additional questions, please contact your homeroom teacher.
