Grade 5 - Stone Canyon Outdoor Edventures

Fly through the air, launch a rocket, climb tall obstacles and explore survival techniques. It's not superhero school, it's Outdoor Ed!

American Academy fifth graders, along with a group of fifth grade teachers and leaders, head out to Larkspur, Colorado, with Stone Canyon Outdoor EdVentures to learn science, practice problem-solving and teamwork, and play in the great outdoors. Students learn science out in the field where it actually happens, exploring energy resources, aerodynamics, fire and forest ecology, animal survival, and freshwater biology. And in between they also navigate high ropes, learn archery, conquer an escape room, and zip around on a zip line.
