Keep an eye out this week for the cast list and more details about what it means to be an All Star! Let’s make this an unforgettable experience together! 🎤✨
We’re so excited to welcome students in Grades K–8 to join us for our upcoming production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr.! Performances at PACE will be the weekend of November 13th-16th.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress, along with all of his castle. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he and his household will be transformed to their former selves. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. This “tale as old as time” is filled with spectacular singing and dancing with many fun and exciting opportunities for students K-8!
All auditions and callbacks will take place at the LM Campus.
Great news — more audition slots added!
We are absolutely thrilled by the incredible response to auditions this season — thank you for your excitement and support! Due to the overwhelming amount of interest, we’ve opened additional audition times on Tuesday, August 12th from 4:30–7:30 PM at our LM Campus, Room 122. Sign up now through our Sign-Up Genius to secure your spot!Audition Policy Reminder
To ensure fairness and uphold the integrity of our program, we will not be accepting any pre-recorded video submissions for auditions.
If you are unable to attend one of our scheduled audition dates, please reach out directly to the creative team for guidance. We're happy to work with you within our parameters—thank you for understanding and respecting the process!
Singing Portion:
We’ve also included a link below with a variety of suggested audition song choices, organized by character types. These songs are not mandatory—they’re simply here to help guide and inspire. In fact, in the world of theatre, it’s often preferred that students choose a song outside of the show for auditions. This allows our production team to see the full range of your child’s potential, rather than placing them into just one character “box.” Callbacks are when we’ll listen to songs and scenes from Beauty and the Beast directly. There are also countless helpful resources online to assist in finding the perfect audition cut—we encourage students to explore and find something that suits both their voice and their personality!

We’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to our growing community, we have the opportunity to incorporate a third cast for this year’s Beauty and the Beast production! This is a wonderful way to include even more young performers in the magic of theatre.
The decision to add a third cast will be based entirely on registration numbers. When you register for auditions through our school store (link below), you’ll be asked to indicate which cast you’d prefer your child to be part of. You can base your preference on rehearsal dates, campus location, or simply select “no preference” if you’re flexible.
To support families with transportation between campuses, we’ve already started putting carpool routines in place to try to make things easier and more convenient for everyone.
⛔️ No rehearsal conflicts will be accepted between October 27 and November 16
➡️ Both steps must be completed by August 8 in order for your child to be eligible to audition!
*Please note that the majority of our audition slots are available on Thursday, August 8th, so if your schedule allows, we kindly ask that you choose a time on that day. We have limited availability on August 11th.
Let us know if you have any questions—we can't wait to see your stars shine on stage! 🌟
*Performances at PACE will be the weekend of November 13th-16th!*
Character Breakdown
Belle
Belle is a smart, confident young woman from a small village. She is a strong girl who is able to stand up to Gaston (and the Beast!) as well as those who don't seem to understand her, while being able to show compassion for her father, the Servants, and eventually the Beast.
Maurice
Maurice is an eccentric, older inventor, yet more importantly, the adoring and protective father of Belle. This non- solo singing role is perfect for the student who can have fun interpreting this "crazy old man" while conveying some very strong emotions: fear and fatherly love!
Beast
The Beast is the master of the castle who was transformed by the Enchantress's spell. The student should be able to handle this complex character: a dictator, a hurt child, a hero, a defender and a smitten prince. This actor will deliver a range of conflicting emotional states. This is true acting roles with great singing parts as well..
Gaston
Gaston is pompous and dim-witted and will do whatever it takes to win Belle's hand. Gaston has all the confidence in the world, but lacks the humility to balance it. A strong singing and speaking voice and acting ability are more important than size and stature for this role.
Lefou
Lefou is Gaston's equally dim-witted lackey. This character needs to be Gaston's foil and should double the laughs for them both. Lefou should be able to sing, act and dance.
Silly Girls
The Silly Girls are in love with Gaston and will do almost anything just to be near him. These girls bring both comedy and elegance to the town. They provided the difference between Belle to the rest.
Lumiere
Lumiere is a self-confident, charming, French mâitre d' who (under the Enhantress's spell) is becoming a candelabra. He has a never-ending give-and-take with Cogsworth. Lumiere should be a strong singer who can "light up" the stage in "Be Our Guest." If you can handle the French accent, fantastic! This role covers a range of emotions (from charming entertainer to brave soldier) and requires prominent song and dance.
Cogsworth
Cogsworth is the English major-domo of the castle who is becoming a mantle clock. He, like all of the castle's Servants, shows a fatherly compassion for Belle yet is perfectly submissive to their master, the Beast. Cogsworth has two sides – he is a wee bit of a baby at times yet has no problem "getting into it" with Lumiere. Try a British accent.
Mrs. Potts
Mrs. Potts is the castle's endearing cook who has been enchanted to become a teapot. Mrs. Potts needs a strong, sweet voice and should be able to convey comforting, maternal qualities amidst the chaos that is breaking out at the castle. Try a British accent.
Babette
Babette is the maid of the castle who is turning into a feather duster. She misses the finer things in life as well as just being a girl. Babette is happy to be at Belle's service at a moment's notice, but her true heart comes through in "Human Again."
Madame De La Grande Bouche
Madame De La Grande Bouche is an opera singer who is becoming a wardrobe. Madame is almost larger than life in everything she does, including her singing and dancing.
Chip
Chip is Mrs. Potts's son, who is becoming a teacup. Chip has a wonderful naïveté that endears him to all of the Servants.
Old Beggar Woman/Enchantress
The Old Beggar Woman/Enchantress should be an actor with the ability to be visually dramatic. Her transformation in the Prologue from the Old Beggar Woman to the Enchantress should magically entice all into the story.
Monsieur D'arque
Monsieur D'arque is the dark, creepy proprietor of the lunatic asylum who adds more tension to the story.
Ensemble
The ENSEMBLE will portray NARRATORS, VILLAGERS in Belle’s town (Aristocrat Lady, Fish Man, Egg Man, Sausage Curl Girl, Baker, Lady with Cane, Lady with Baby, Candle Man, Hat Seller, Milkmaid, Shepherd Boy, Bookseller, Butcher + More), WOLVES in the forest, AND SERVANTS of the Beast’s castle (Statues, a Dust Pan, Flatware, Plates, an Egg Timer, Napkins, a Carpet, Salt & Pepper Shakers and other household items and kitchenware). Some VILLAGERS have cameo acting roles.
