Dear American Academy Parents,
YOU DID IT!!!! We all know there are more difficult times ahead, but finishing another school year is an incredible milestone worth celebrating - not only for your child(ren), but also for you! Congratulations!
This week our newsletter provides a look at how to prevent/treat burnout during the pandemic, some STEM project ideas for all ages, and the first word I've found of a totally virtual summer STEM camp for graduating 8th graders and current high school students. As I find/get word of additional virtual camps, hopefully for a wider age range, I will share them with you - even over the summer! I know with school wrapping up and laptops being turned back in this week, doing extra STEM projects may not be at the front of your mind. But we wanted to share another handful of projects with you just in case! Also, please remember that all editions of this year's newsletter are now available in an Archive page on our AA STEM website!
If at any point this summer you want to inject a little STEM into your life, pick a project from one of our archived newsletters. And remember - we would LOVE to see any photographs of your children/family participating in STEM-related activities over the summer!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about STEM education as we wrap up this school year, over the summer, or into the 2020-21 school year, don't hesitate to send me an email. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your flexibility, grace, and support over the past few months! Our entire STEM department is grateful to you for stepping in to help us educate your children when we could no longer be solely responsible for doing so. We all look forward with hope to a more normal fall, but trust that together our AA Community will weather whatever comes with grace, dignity, innovation, and love.
From our family to yours, we wish you a healthy and happy "socially distanced" summer!
