School Dismissal Manager (SDM) does not issue login credentials for non-legal guardians (grandparents, caretakers, older siblings). 

 

This may cause an issue if they are responsible for picking up your children in afternoon carpool because American Academy requires families to use the mobile app for check-in during afternoon carpool.

 

 

In order to setup a View Only parent, you will need to enter their Name, EMail and Mobile Number.  Once added, they will receive an email from SDM with their app login credentials.  

 

"View Only parents" will login to the SDM app with their own credentials and will have the ability to check-in during Carpool and pick up the student(s) you assigned to them.  They will not have access to view any information within your SDM account profile, only able to pick up and receive notifications. 

 

Non-legal guardians will be required to either use the mobile app when checking into carpool OR they will be directed to park and provide proper identification to the Front Office staff to sign your child out.  Option #1 is preferred for both you and our staff.

If you need a non-legal guardian to have full access to your SDM account in order to make dismissal changes or report absences on your behalf, we recommend the guardian share their SDM login credentials with any other non-legal guardians. By you giving them your login credentials, you are authorizing them to pick up your children and act as "you" on your behalf.   AA guardians should ask the non-legal guardian to install the SDM app on a smartphone and then log into the app using the parent’s login credentials. 

 

No additional steps are needed for you to designate the non-legal guardian or View Only Parent to pick up.  Since they will login to SDM using your credentials or you have assigned your student(s) to the View Only Parent, they will automatically be able to see the Check-In button during dismissal.
